The new positives were identified from the 693 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. ย There are now 291 active cases. Sixteen men and 17 women made up the new cases. ย Four of them had already been at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility undergoing assessment to determine whether their positive PCR test result showed that they were in fact newly positive, or whether they had COVID-19 in the past and were no longer infectious. Of the other 29 cases, there were 26 Barbadians and three non-nationals. The total number of persons diagnosed as positive at Her Majestyโs Prisons Dodds remains at 362.ย Of these, 358 have recovered and the remaining four inmates are included in the active cases. To date, Barbados has recorded 1,709 confirmed cases โ 709 females, 1,000 males โ and 1,400 persons have recovered.ย Eighteen persons have died from the viral illness.
