There were 56 recoveries and the number of active cases is now 771. The 57 new positive cases comprised 29 women and 28 men. ย Two of them had already been at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility undergoing assessment to determine whether their positive PCR test result showed that they were in fact newly positive, or whether they had COVID in the past and were no longer infectious. Fifty-three of the new cases were Barbadians and two were non-nationals. Barbados has recorded 2,772 confirmed cases โ 1,272 females and 1,500 males โ and 1,970 persons have recovered. There have been 31 deaths from the viral illness. There were 1,346 persons vaccinated on Saturday, as part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19.
