Authorities at the St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Primary School today disclosed the discovery of a possible COVID-19 case and announced the closure of the school until further notice.

A statement issued by apostolic administrator Bishop-elect Neil Scantlebury said: “Please be informed that out of an abundance of caution and as mandated by the Ministry of Health and Wellness the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Primary School will be closed from Tuesday 25th May 2021, until further notice. This closure is a result of the school being exposed to a possible case of COVID-19.

It added that the school is in the process of being sanitized and all necessary protocols of the Ministry of Health are being followed.

He noted that the school will return to online classes during the closure.
