Convicted burglar Jamal Amal Skeete has been sentenced to 16 months in jail for committing three offences.

However, the 32-year-old of no fixed place of abode only has 14 months left to serve at Dodds, having already spent two months on remand.

Magistrate Alison Burke handed down the ruling on Tuesday afternoon in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.

Skeete had previously pleaded guilty to entering the home of Beverly Edwards as a trespasser on October 5, 2020 and stealing food items worth $61.50.

He also took responsibility for entering Easy Speak Enterprise as a trespasser on October 23 last year and stealing several items worth $890 – the property of Shareka Bentham.

Skeete also told the magistrate he was the one who stole a bag and its contents, belonging to John Alexander and worth $730, between October 17 and 18, 2020.

He was sentenced to four months in prison on the first offence and six months each on the other two offences. His time in jail will run consecutively.
