This is from a batch of 359 samples taken during the period August 3ย to August 7. These samples were processed on August 7. These newly diagnosed individuals were seen at various community respiratory clinics where they were assessed and tested for COVID-19. In accordance with the national COVID-19 testing protocol, they were each placed in home quarantine by health-care practitioners while awaiting the return of their COVID-19 test results. Arrangements have since been made to place these individuals in isolation. The contact tracing for these new cases is underway. The Ministry of Health also received confirmation of the recovery of 25 individuals bringing the total number of active cases in country to date to 290. Presently, one of the active cases requires critical care at the Respiratory Hospital. The new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 5837. As of August 7, a total of 32, 810 individuals have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 25, 543 individuals have received the second dose.
