The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 1,145 tests on Sunday, August 22. There are currently 161 people in isolation. Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados has recorded 4,668 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (2,279 females and 2,389 males). The virus has claimed 48 lives. The public health laboratory has, to date, carried out 250,010 tests. The National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19 has seen 103,200 people receive first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 90,675 persons (33.5 per cent of the population) have been given second doses and are fully vaccinated.
