The cases comprised 98 persons under the age of 18, and 488 who were 18 years and older. There were 178 people in isolation facilities, while 12,654 were in home isolation. A 53-year-old unvaccinated man passed away from the virus at the Queen Elizabeth Hospitalโs Accident and Emergency Department on Tuesday. As at February 8, the death toll from COVID-19 stood at 289. The public health laboratory has carried out 558,656 tests since February 2020, and recorded 49,958 COVID-19 cases (23,165 males and 26,793 females). Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 159,193 (69.7 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of persons who are fully vaccinated is 147,935 (54.6 per cent of the total population or 64.8 per cent of the eligible population).
