The world-recognised awards are presented to individuals in the community who exemplify outstanding professional achievement while maintaining very high ethical standards. And the three were recognised at the club’s 36th annual Charter Night and Vocational Service Awards ceremony, held online. In reading Young’s citation, Rotarian Michelle Lewis acknowledged his contribution to schools and the youth, particularly children with special needs. “The Rotary Club of Barbados South acknowledges Michael Young for his humanitarian spirit towards encouraging special needs children through water sports,” she said. Trained in Britain, Young volunteered his skills to the St Angela’s School and the Ursaline Convent, the Water Pole League and Barbados Sub Aqua Club.
