Police were called to investigate a very serious matter at Storey Gap, Codrington Hill, St Michael just after 11 a.m. A man, who police said was the subject of an investigation into a number of serious matters, was seen walking in the area. Police said they attempted to arrest the man but he resisted and evaded capture. The man allegedly assaulted officers while attempting to avoid arrest. Police said he ran away and they gave chase on foot. The chase ended at a residence several meters away, where the man armed himself with a piece of wood. Police say the man attacked them, injuring a female officer who was struck to the right side of her head. She was transported to the QEH for medical attention.
