Five batsmen scored two centuries each of 19 all told after the round robin matches in the BCA Elite/Division 1 Super Cup Championship.

The five are Leniko Boucher, Rashawn Worrell (Carlton), Jai-Bari Yarde (Empire), Matthew Forde (Sagicor Life UWI ‘A’) and Shayne Moseley (Wanderers).

Boucher slammed 178 not out against IGS Insurance Brokers Yorkshire at Friendship in the first round and an unbeaten 138 v IDL Walkers Sand Quarry Isolation Cavaliers at Desmond Haynes Oval (Series 3).

In three matches, he amassed 316 runs and was dismissed only once before taking up a contract in Canada.

Worrell made 156 off Yorkshire and 101 against Nicholls Baking Combermere at Desmond Haynes Oval (Series 7).

Against Yorkshire, Boucher and Worrell featured in a record opening partnership of 361 off 48.2 overs as Carlton piled up 380 for two off 50 overs before winning by 183 runs.

With Carlton failing to advance to the quarter-finals, which are scheduled for Sunday (matches are:

Empire v Police at Bank Hall; UWI ‘A’ v Wildey at 3Ws Oval; Wanderers v Fusionz Boutique Spartan at Dayrells Road; BWU Gladiola v Yorkshire at Rices) left-hander Worrell ended with 387 runs (Ave: 48.37).

Left-arm spinner Nathan Sealy, who represented both Foundation and Barbados Youth ‘B’ and captained both teams, is still the top bowler.

In five matches, Sealy grabbed the most wickets (22) from 46.3 overs, with the best economy (2.23) and best average (4.72).

His figures are: (For Foundation) 10-0-29-3 v Spartan at Church Hill; 9-2-13-3 v Barbados Youth ‘A’ at Crumpton Street; (For Barbados Youth ‘B’) 9-1-23-6 v Police at Weymouth; 9.3-4-7-7 (including a hat-trick) v Carlton at Desmond Haynes Oval; and 9-0-32-3 v UWI ‘A’ at Waterford.

Sealy’s switch from Foundation to Barbados Youth ‘B’ was due to a decision to have the national Under-17 team, of which he was also the captain, play as a unit in preparation for the regional Tournament in Trinidad in July.

Second on the list of wicket-takers is another Foundation schoolboy, 14-year-old off-spinner Akobi Crichlow-Byer, with 18 (Econ: 6.07; Ave: 18.22) in six matches.

Crichlow-Byer played for the champion Barbados team in the recent Cricket West Indies Under-15 Tournament in Grenada.
