Speaking to the media, Sargeant, a former student of Ellerslie Secondary School, said that he grew up with strong independent women, therefore, he wanted his company to support breast cancer awareness. “I grew up surrounded by strong, independent women in my family who continue to inspire me daily. That’s the reason I decided to support such a worthy cause. There are mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and nieces out there whose lives are impacted by the disease daily and I am willing to play my part by doing whatever I can to help in the fight,” he said. Thus, Organix Snacks (Barbados) has launched Munch For The Cure: Snack Pink Initiative which the company will donate 15 per cent of their online sales from their Snack Pink items towards the programme. This initiative would run until October 30th, 2022. The company has been conducting various pop-up shops across the island and has even gotten some private secondary schools on board as well. “The purpose of our company’s pop-ups is to spread awareness. Our goal is to let people know that there are better snacking options available. Instead of taking that little nibble off preservative-filled empty calories, you can now indulge in delicious, high-quality, nutrient-dense energizing morsels that taste even better. In the last couple of months, we have been contacted by schools across the island who are interested in having our products as a healthier option for their students,” he said.
