Empire Club registered back-to-back victories in the Barbados Football Association (BFA) Premier League Saturday night, with a comfortable 3-1 win over Wotton FC at the Wildey Turf.
Captain Rajohn Hawksworth opened his account with a strike in the 11th minute to give Empire an early lead before centre-back Kemar Holligan doubled their advantage mid-way through the first half.
Antoine Charles put the match out of Wotton’s reach with a jaw-dropping solo effort, evading two defenders before going around Barbados’ No.2 goalkeeper Liam Brathwaite and side-footing into an empty net.
Substitute Marco St Hill scored his first goal of the season in stoppage time for Wotton as the Christ Church-based team slumped to their second consecutive defeat of the season.
In the night’s first encounter, Paradise and Deacons FC played to a 1-1 draw. Rashane Thompson gave Deacons a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute but Paradise captain Armando Lashley produced the equaliser two minutes later with his third goal in as many games.
