Gaynelle Corbin, author of Returning To My First Love: A Journey of Faith is celebrating one year as an international author after her debut book was released on international publishing site Amazon last year.

The book has eight five-star reviews on Amazon and details how she found her own personal connection with God. In the book’s pages, she details how her mother and aunt raised her with a Christian upbringing and how their early spiritual guidance has shaped her into the woman that she is today.

Corbin said she always knew she had a knack for writing, which could be attributed to her mother ensuring that she was well versed in reading, writing, and spelling from a tender age.

“I loved writing from a young age, but I never thought about becoming an author. When I wrote the book, I designed it to encourage and inspire other readers to reimagine and redefine their future in the midst of life’s challenges. It was a tedious yet exciting challenge writing the book because writer’s block is real. I took a break from writing the book, assessed where I was, developed my writing and editing skills, pursued a mentorship programme and set a deadline for completion. In addition, through prayer and collaboration with knowledgeable and experienced professionals, the journey became smoother,” she said.

Since publishing her debut book, she is actively working on completing her subsequent publications, which shall be released in the not-too-distant future.

“A few of the commenters on my book have been asking me, ‘When is the next book coming out?’ Thus, I am working on some new books which will be coming soon. In the interim I invite persons to read Returning To My First Love: A Journey of Faith on Amazon Kindle, Cloisters Bookstore, Things Gospel, Days Bookstore, Seashells Convenience (Airport Branch) and The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus bookstore,” she said.

Corbin who holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Surrey and a Bachelor of Arts in French from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus said that since becoming an author she has realised how important it is for persons to share their testimony with others as you never know who it would inspire.

“When I wrote this book two years ago, I never knew how many people it would inspire. I think my advice to persons reading this article would be to remember that they are endorsed by God and once they develop a relationship with Him, it can lead to infinite possibilities,” she said.
