It said the system, located in the Central Atlantic, got better organised overnight. โConditions will continue to improve for further development as the day progresses and a tropical depression is more than likely to develop sometime today,โ it said in a statement issued this morning. โThere is still some considerable spread in model guidance on the forecast track with some of the guidance bringing the system through the Northern Windwards/Southern Leewards later this week around Thursday. The system has been tracking slightly north of west at 15 to 20 mph over the past 24 hours and this general motion is expected to continue over the next few days.โ The BMS said it is also closely monitoring another area of disturbed weather in the far eastern Atlantic. It said environmental conditions are expected to be marginally conducive for the slow development of this system later this week as the system tracks westward at 10 to 15 miles per hour behind the tropical wave. There are no watches or warnings in effect for Barbados. However, the BMS urged the public to continue monitoring the updates from the BMS along with postings by the Government Information Service and the Department of Emergency Management.
