The Wyndham Grand Barbados, Sam Lord’s Castle Resort & Spa will open its doors to its first guests on October 11, 2023, the Barbados Tourism Investment Inc. (BTII) has announced.
In a statement issued late Friday, the BTII said guests and participants of the 8th Annual Barbados Jazz Excursion will be among the first guests, occupying up to 125 rooms in the new resort.
“The Excursion will feature a number of first-class concerts utilising the resort’s state of the art conference room, which is one of the largest hotel conference centres in the Eastern Caribbean. This opens Barbados to the MICE [Meetings, Incentive, Conference and Events] market for large groups, where the participants can stay in the resort,” the statement added.
BTII further disclosed that the conference centre has already been booked for a number of functions in November and December.
Wyndham Grand Barbados, Sam Lord’s Castle Resort & Spa has a focus on green-living and wellbeing, and amenities engineered with meetings and events at the fore.
According to the BTII, it is among the first distinctively eco-luxury and sustainably designed resorts in the Caribbean.
Features include guestrooms with high impact resilient and low emissivity glass in addition to certified sustainable wood panelling.
The resort also boasts a wastewater treatment plant facilitating irrigation of the property’s drought tolerant landscaping and the recharge of local aquifers. (PR)
