American ultra low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines is on course to provide new services between Puerto Rico and Barbados in another two months.

It announced Wednesday that it will launch a non-stop service three times a week between San Juanโ€™s Luis Munoz Marin International Airport and the Grantley Adams International Airport on July 3.

In a statement, Vice President of Network and Operations Design at Frontier Airlines, Josh Flyr said: โ€œAs we anticipate an exciting and potentially record-breaking summer travel season, weโ€™re thrilled to further expand our route map.

โ€œMore destinations served means more affordable and convenient travel options for consumers across the US, Caribbean and beyond.โ€

The airline previously indicated that it was shifting its strategy by reducing flights to oversaturated vacation markets like Florida and Las Vegas while increasing service in certain markets that are โ€œunderserved or overpricedโ€.

Frontier Airlines is offering an introductory fare of US$59 (BDS$118) โ€“ subject to Government approval โ€“ on its Barbados flights.

A subsidiary of Frontier Group Holdings Inc, Frontier Airlinesย  is headquartered in Denver, Colorado. The company operates 134 A320 family aircraft and has the largest A320neo family fleet in the US.
