Rebate being offered for post-Beryl boat repairs

The Ministry of Environment and National Beautification, Green and Blue Economy is requesting owners of boats damaged during the passage of Hurricane Beryl to call the Barbados Fisheries Division, at 535‑5800, regarding the fishing vessels repairs rebate.

Boat owners may also visit the Barbados Fisheries Division, Princess Alice Highway, St Michael, between 8:30 a.m., and 4:30 p.m., to complete applications for the repairs rebate.

In addition, the ministry advises owners of vessels to seek guidance and assistance from the following list of Marine Surveyors, in order to assess and quantify their damages: Anthony Hinds – 546-6608 / 265-0482, anthonyhinds252@hotmail.com; Carl Garraway – 571-1116 / 269-7839, bowlman88@gmail.com; Commander David Dowridge – 230-9133 / 262-6038, d_dowridge@yahoo.com; Martin Smyth – 433-9499 / 230-1532, tinsmyth@gmail.com; Tristan King – 424-8001 / 233-1574, powerboatsbarbados@gmail.com; Malcolm Thompson – 233-4640 / 433-4387, malcolm.dre.thompson@gmail.com; Shamir Khan – 268-3260 / 258-0831, shamirkhan377@gmail.com.

Government will fully support the marine survey assessments conducted, the ministry said. (BGIS)
