The unemployed man of Alleyne’s Land, Passage Road, St Michael, is charged with having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl on November 20, 2023, and raping the minor between October 1 and 31. He was not required to plead to the indictable charges in the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court. Objecting to bail, court prosecutor Sergeant Verdon Forde outlined the seriousness of the offences, the need to protect the complainant, and the prevalence of such offences in society. Overruling the objections, Magistrate Manila Renee informed the accused that she was granting him bail. However, Alleyne told the court that he had no surety present. He was remanded into custody until December 23. Barbados Today Stay informed and engaged with our digital news platform.
