Work to start on several roads in St Michael on Monday

The rehabilitation of several roads in St Michael continues with some small contractors starting work on Monday, February 10.

Eden Lodge Main Avenue and Sorrel Avenue will be rehabilitated by Alpha Omega Construction, while Wavell New Development as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Avenues Park Road in Bush Hall will be done by Lot One Developments Inc. The scope of work and schedules are listed below:

Eden Lodge Main Avenue & Sorrell Avenue

• Contractor: Alpha Omega Construction.
• Start Date: Monday, February 10..
• Estimated duration: 20 days.
• Time: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Scope of works: Milling and paving, repairs to kerb and slippers, and manhole cover adjustments to the height of the road.

Wavell New Development

• Contractor: Lot One Developments Inc.
• Start Date: Monday, February 10.
• Estimated duration: Two weeks; Mondays to Fridays, occasionally Saturdays.
• Time: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Scope of works: The installation of kerbs and repairs to existing kerbs, grading to assist proper water runoff, deep milling, milling, and paving.

1st and 2ndAvenues Park Road, Bush Hall

• Contractor: Lot One Developments Inc.
• Start Date: Monday, February 10.
• Estimated duration: One month; Mondays to Fridays, occasionally Saturdays.
• Time: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Scope of works: Excavation, compacting, grading to assist proper water run-off, milling and paving, and the installation of kerbs.

3rd Avenue Park Road, Bush Hall

• Contractor: Lot One Developments Inc.
• Start Date: Monday, February 10.
• Estimated duration: One month; Mondays to Fridays, occasionally Saturdays.
• Time: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Scope of works: Milling and paving, and the installation of kerbs where applicable.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Works, Santia Bradshaw recently announced there will be an increase in roadworks activities as the Ministry seeks to capitalize on the dry season.

Under the ramped-up maintenance and rehabilitation initiative, roads will be milled and paved, and remedial work done to drainage and road infrastructure such as sidewalks, kerbs, and manholes.

C. O. Williams Construction Ltd is currently working at Chelston Avenue and B& R Infrastructure Ltd is carrying out work on 3rd Avenue Free Hill in Black Rock. (PR)
