The awards, part of the diaspora outreach programme, We Gatherin’, recognise citizens for their outstanding contributions to their communities. They were presented to awardees who were unable to attend the scheduled ceremony at State House. Among those honoured was the Reverend Dr Lucille Baird. Described as “The Torch of St James”, Dr Baird was recognised for her lifelong dedication to the underserved youth, vulnerable women and incarcerated men of her parish, as well as for her visionary leadership and unwavering faith-driven service. I’m grateful and humbled, and I will continue to do the work that God has called me to do until He says, ‘Well done o’ good and faithful servant.’” Also receiving recognition was Anthony Lynch, honoured for his “profound acts of kindness, unwavering generosity and support”. From donating school supplies to assisting struggling families, Lynch’s generosity has strengthened community bonds and inspired others to give selflessly. From St Andrew, Kim Holder was recognised for more than 20 years of excellence and leadership in tennis. As a mentor and coach, she has nurtured future champions and shown a steadfast commitment to supporting differently abled youth in her community. Patrick Waithe of St Philip was celebrated for his lifelong dedication to mentoring through sports, faith and community leadership.
