Police at Holetown Station said initial investigations revealed that Jonathan Agnew was in the water when relatives noticed he was floating. They entered the sea and brought him ashore, where medical assistance was administered. However, he was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical doctor. Agnew was staying at Sandy Lane Estates at the time. The incident follows another death on Saturday involving a Canadian visitor at Crane Beach, St Philip, who also lost his life after getting into difficulties while swimming.
