(Photo Credit: CWI Media) FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 100 Having been dominant at home in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) over the past three years, West Indies head coach Daren Sammy expects that trend to continue when they face Sri Lanka in a three-match series beginning next week. West Indies have won four straight home ODI series, with their last loss coming at the hands of India in August 2023. Since then, they defeated England 2-1 in December of 2023 and again in 2024, blanked Bangladesh 3-0 in 2024 and most recently, they triumphed over Pakistan 2-1 in a historic win last year. It will be their first ODIs for the year, having last played the format during the tour of New Zealand in late 2025 when they were thumped 3-0. With the opening match scheduled to bowl off in Jamaica on June 3, Sammy said he was confident that winning streak would be extended. โIn ODI cricket weโve made home a fortress for us and to see the guys coming in and putting in the work Iโm happy with what Iโm seeing in the camp. They know our conditions and theyโve scored big runs. Every series I think weโve had one or two hundreds and we have to continue that. โSri Lanka is a team that will know the conditions as well because itโs similar to what they face at home, but I think the battle of the series is how well we play their spinners and how well our fast bowlers bowl against their batsmen up frontโฆ So again Iโm looking forward to the series where we will continue our dominance at home,โ he further added. ย (Jamaica Observer) Barbados Today Stay informed and engaged with our digital news platform.
