According to Police Public Affairs and Communications Officer Inspector Ryan Brathwaite, officers responded to reports of a shooting at about 9:40 a.m. after a woman contacted the Operations Control Room indicating that a man had been shot at the location. Police and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene. โPersonnel from the Barbados Ambulance Service, comprising one doctor and two EMTs, examined the body of that male and found no signs of life,โ Brathwaite said told reporters. He added that a police medical officer subsequently visited the scene and officially pronounced the man dead. โInvestigations are at a delicate stage at this time. Our forensic team is currently on the scene and the area has been secured,โ Brathwaite said.
