Peter Ram apologises for offensive lyrics

Peter Ram has issued an apology for his part in a freestyle video that has been widely criticised.

The viral music video featuring prominent entertainers Lil Rick and Ram that features explicit lyrics and appears to be glorifying gun violence has drawn public outrage and condemnation by Home Affairs Minister Wilfred Abrahams.

The leading artistes featured in the 16-minute video called the Trojan Riddim Barbados Dancehall Mix also includes Mole, Reigning Bashment Soca King SK, Brutal Cranstar, Leadpipe of Sometimes fame, Chef Din, among others.

In a short video posted on his social media channel today Peter Ram said, ” I come here to express sincere and my humblest apology to all of my followers, fans and sponsors along with the general public for the lyrical content in the freestyle video.”

He explained the riddim was done a year and a half ago and it wasn’t his intention to offend anyone.

Peter Ram said: ” As one of Barbados’ top entertainers I deeply apologise to all of my fans and friends and all of the little kids that look up to me. See the mistake acknowledged it and you come and big man thing apologise…We love Barbados and big up wanna self, peace Barbados”
