The Black Knight Bikers (BKB) community group has awarded 14 students from Milton Lynch Primary School for their participation in a mentorship programme focused on biking safety and life skills.
On Friday, the club recognised the pupils with trophies after they completed the comprehensive multi-week programme led by BKB President Fabian Reeves and school counsellors.
“Our goal was to go beyond just teaching biking skills,” said Reeves. “We wanted to impart important values such as discipline, respect, and dedication.”
As well as learning cycling basics like helmet use and road safety, the sessions covered broader themes of personal growth. Students were taught about routines, respecting others and pursuing goals through interactive sessions and practical demonstrations.

The interactive sessions proved to be the highlight of the programme. Students could quiz the bikers and share their own thoughts. These created an open, supportive setting for the children to express themselves freely and grow in confidence. In turn, the bikers related personal stories and experiences as examples of overcoming challenges and achieving success.
“We are incredibly proud of these young individuals,” Reeves said of the award winners. “Their eagerness to learn and grow is inspiring.”
The anti-bullying group, which promotes safe cycling in the community, said the well-received programme aimed to make a positive impact. It plans to roll it out to more schools, having already visited others where additional awards will be made this year.
