The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 2,231 tests on Friday, October 15. The 346 new cases comprise 92 persons under the age of 18, and 254 who are 18 years and older. There are currently 601 persons in isolation facilities, and 2,728 in home isolation. Five deaths were recorded for Friday – two women, aged 50 and 87, and three men, aged 51, 59, and 93. They were all unvaccinated. Their deaths bring the number of persons who have died from the virus to 114, as at October 15. Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados has recorded 12,773 confirmed cases (6,162 males and 6,611 females) of the viral illness. The public health laboratory has carried out 355,225 tests.
