The Ministry of Agriculture donated food hampers to three charities this morning as part of their activities to commemorate World Food Day, which is celebrated today.

The donations were done in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organisation. The beneficiaries of the food drive were the HIV/AIDS Food Bank, Street Lamp Ministries and the Child Care Board. Deputy Chief Agriculture Officer Barney Callender said there were a number of Barbadians in need and the donation would go a long way to help many families.

The presentation was made at the ministry’s headqaurters in Graeme Hall, Christ Church. (SZB)
