The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training’s exhibition, entitled Arts In Focus, has officially opened.

The five-day exhibition of industrial arts, visual arts and culinary arts by secondary school students opened this morning at Pelican House (the old BIDC building) on Harbour Road, St Michael.

Chief Education Officer Dr Ramona Archer-Bradshaw was impressed with the work on display.

“I am exceedingly proud of the students of Barbados. I saw the art, I saw the leathercraft, I saw the work that they did with the textiles, [and] I invite the people to come down to the BIDC building and see the displays,” she said during a brief opening ceremony.

“Our students within our schools are exceedingly talented, and this is one of the opportunities that the Ministry of Education Technological and Vocational Training has provided for our students to display their talents.”

The exhibition will run to Friday, October 25. (SB)
